Puns, poems and humour

Death Rides a Unicorn Events is putting on another night of funny people and hilarious poems for their witty literary and spoken word performance, Famous Last Words, Season 1 Episode 2.

The event welcomes back returning champions Dina Del Bucchia, RC Weslowski, Lucia Misch, Johnny Trinh and a mystery player, whose name will be unveiled at some point. Specifically designed fun and games will put to the test their literary and comedic merit.

The five contestants or provocateurs as they are called, will try to win their way into the heart of the master of ceremonies, Sara Bynoe on Oct. 27.

With the assistance of the audience Byone and her trusty unicorn sidekick Hilary Angus, will decide who performs best, whose picture of a puppy most looks like a famous poet, and whose 3 line haiku is the wittiest.

Sara Bynoe is an actor, writer, and comedy show producer who is best known for her shows Teen Angst Night, Say Wha?! Readings of Deliciously Rotten Writing, and for appearing in commercials as the frazzled woman in need of a product. A graduate of the acting program at Studio 58 she later earned an MA in Creative and Life Writing from Goldsmiths, University of London. Her column The Environmentalist from Hell appears in Asparagus Magazine where she writes about sustainability and environmental matters. She recently returned to professional theatre in a run of Mom’s The Word at Theatre North West.

Hilary Angus is a writer, photographer, and the former managing editor of Momentum Magazine, an urban cycling lifestyle publication. She has previously written for Rabble.ca and Naked Underground Montreal. Working for years in the non-profit sector before her transition to media, she looks at her subject matter through the lens of social justice. She is interested in human geography, the circular economy, and responsible urbanism, particularly the manner in which our built environments impact our lives in both positive and negative ways.
